Special formwork
MZ Formwork's special formwork was the starting point upon which another party could continue working with a system formwork.

Special formwork

Contractors whose projects involve special shapes or complex detailing in concrete know that MZ Shuttering is the right company to turn to. The company has extensive experience in the formwork industry and only delivers custom work. And with Pascal Rijkers as shuttering consultant, they also know how to achieve the necessary optimizations in many projects. This was also the case for Strukton on the New Waterworks Zoutkamp project.

The project in Zoutkamp came our way because of previous positive experiences with a party in Groningen, says Pascal. "That's how it often goes with us. We get a lot of work from word of mouth. So that's how we got a call from Strukton. They were facing a few challenges in the design. We immediately got in the car and together we came up with a solution for some tricky details. We are increasingly involved in projects at an early stage. It is precisely then that we can make a difference or even make optimizations. That was also the case here in Zoutkamp."

Always customized

MZ Formwork manufactured and delivered a number of round head boxes in Zoutkamp to make the curved shapes of the pumping station. "As I said, we were there at the front reasonably on time, so we jointly recorded the main details of these special shapes. That in turn formed the starting point on which another party could continue working with a system box," Pascal explains, emphasizing that MZ Formwork focuses exclusively on special shapes. "Standard system formwork without carpentry is beyond us. We don't have that, and we don't invest in that. With us, everything is about customization."

Optimizations

MZ Formworks is committed to thinking and participating at the front end. "We know what we are talking about, and can also make connections between the various parties active on the construction site and the specific tasks," says Pascal. "Not infrequently, we know how to make optimizations. For example, in consultation with Strukton, we adjusted the pouring sequence. This meant that less formwork was needed and a box could be used multiple times, whereas the original design had assumed separate formwork for each head. It resulted in an optimization for Strukton. We never go for the maximum, but always for the best solution for the customer."
