'Renting a screening machine is usually more economical than buying'

ZEEFVERHUUR.NL is specialized in renting out screening installations. Whether it's rubble, glass or compost, even for sifting out ammunition for Defence, owner Rien van Laarhoven has the right machine. Aannemingsbedrijf Van der Zanden has been using these machines for 20 years. Co-owner Tijs van der Zanden: "Regardless of the type of work we have to do, Rien always has the right sieving machine. They are high-quality machines, with which there is rarely a problem. And the few times something does occur, Rien solves it at lightning speed."

Van der Zanden is a versatile contracting company that performs work in the areas of earthworks, road and hydraulic engineering, demolition and environmental remediation. As Grondbank Midden-Brabant, they also inspect soil whose environmental quality is unknown. With 45 employees, they frequently need a screening machine.

Rien: "Often customers doubt whether they should buy a shaker or drum sifter themselves or whether it would be better to rent it. The fact that renting is cheaper at the bottom line is usually the deciding factor. After all, the customer has no maintenance or repair costs. In addition, one can rent a machine operator from us, which is very nice now that it is difficult to find expert personnel."

Tijs: "We do a lot of demolition work. Think of apartment buildings, houses and agricultural buildings. Almost always the site has to be delivered rubble-free. Which screening plant we hire depends, among other things, on the subsoil. If it is bad, we choose tracked equipment, for example the Terex Finlaytriple Shaft." Rien adds: "Because of a higher G-force, among other things, it is perfectly usable for materials that are difficult to sift."

The contracting company has a soil bank that must be free of soil-borne materials. Tijs explains, "It is of utmost importance to us that all streams of soil coming in and going out are carefully sieved so that they are delivered debris-free. For this we use the drum sieves from ZEEFVERHUUR.NL." Rien recommends the Terra Select T6 for this type of work: "This is a reliable sieve with a high capacity. It is driven by a low-noise engine with an output of up to 123 hp."

"We are committed to emission-free operation and it is nice that ZEEFVERHUUR.NL also has an electrically powered screening machine in its range. We haven't used it yet, but are definitely planning to in the future!", concludes Tijs with determination.
