HZC launches Safe Working Talking Café at Infra Relatiedagen 2025

During Infra Relatiedagen 2025, trade association HZC is introducing live for the first time the HZC Praatcafé, which focuses on the voice of the practitioner. This new initiative offers visitors the chance to discuss essential themes within the sector in a small group. This edition's theme is "Working Safely," with topics such as the transition from night to day work, workload versus health, and workplace safety discussed in detail. A fourth theme will be determined by the visitor.

Chris van Veldhuizen, managing director of HZC, explains the importance of the Praatcafé: "The infrastructure sector is facing major challenges due to economic and technological changes, and the pressure on employees is increasing. The Praatcafé provides an opportunity to hear what is really going on on the shop floor and together look for solutions that contribute to a healthier and safer working environment."

The HZC Praatcafé is a successful format, created in 2023 and tested in previous sessions at construction and infrastructure companies. Van Veldhuizen notes that the openness of the participants and constructive conversations have yielded many positive results. "The conversations gave us a lot of insight and proved that this approach works," Van Veldhuizen said.

With the Praatcafé, HZC wants to gain more insight into the perception of employees within the infrastructure sector. The sector faces challenges such as strict regulations, emission requirements, high work pressure and an aging workforce. Key questions include: what motivates employees? What causes stress? And what is needed for a better work-life balance?

The HZC Praatcafé will take place on February 11, 12 and 13 during Infra Relatiedagen 2025 in Evenementenhal Hardenberg. Let your opinion be heard and vote on the fourth theme.
