An LCA assesses the full environmental impacts of a product throughout its life cycle, from raw material extraction to end-of-life and recycling/reuse. This process results in an Environmental Cost Indicator (EQI); a single score that summarizes all the relevant environmental impacts of a product. This score, expressed in euros, indicates how much environmental impact the product causes. This makes it easier to understand and compare the environmental impact. A low EQI value simply implies a low environmental impact of the product. In short, the lower, the better.

We are transparent about our resource use and associated emissions. Therefore, we present a score that covers all phases of the life cycle of our shoring: from raw material extraction, production and distribution to use, processing and final recycling. In other words, the entire chain - from A to Z - is fully mapped out. In the process, all materials are included in the assessment. After all, we supply a complete system: partitions, posts and fixing materials. What you see is what you get! So now this also applies to the low environmental costs: no unexpected additional costs.

HIP Green lives up to its name. Our shoring was initially designed with attention to environmental impact, without compromising on structural strength. The original principle remains the same: the higher the bulkhead, the lower the environmental burden per square meter and the sharper the square meter price.

The bulkheads are made at and above the waterline from strong, impact-resistant material that is highly recyclable. This makes them extremely robust during processing and ensures a 50-year service life. Below the waterline, up to over 90% of the bulkhead volume can be supplemented with softwood, a renewable resource with a cost-saving function. Thus, HIP Green combines the best of both worlds.
