GVG Oil Trade becomes Gelders: A new name, same dedication 

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, GVG Oil Trading, a leading name in the oil, lubricants and fuel market, will change its name to Gelders. The new name honors the family business' rich history while reflecting its focus on innovation, sustainability and customer focus. 

A name that fits who we are

For more than 25 years, GVG Oil Trade has been a highly valued partner and supplier. "With the name 'Gelders' we honor our origins, but also show that we operate much broader than just oil trading," says Ernst van Gelder. "We are a partner who thinks along and always offers a customized solution. Especially in the field of sustainable fuels, lubricants and industrial cleaning. And we want our name to reflect that as well." 

Same service, new look

For customers, nothing will change in the partnership. Gelders continues to guarantee high-quality products, fast deliveries and customized solutions. "What remains is our commitment to reliability and innovation. What changes is a name that even better reflects what we mean to our customers today," said Frans van Gelder. 

Why Gelderland?

GVG Oil Trade no longer fully reflected what the company does and what it stands for. "With the name Gelders, we connect to our roots in Gelderland and emphasize that we are a family business, proud of where we come from and ambitious about where we are going," explains Ernst van Gelder. Moreover, the link with the surname "Van Gelder" of the brothers and owners is of course no coincidence. 

Leading the way in innovation and sustainability

Gelders distinguishes itself through sustainable solutions that are already applicable today without technical modifications. Besides being the exclusive importer of Aspen alkylate gasoline for more than 30 years, they are also busy developing fossil-free products and biodegradable oils, among other things. These are just a few examples of how Gelders is raising the bar for sustainability and convenience. "We continue to invest in products that contribute to a better world without compromising on performance," Ernst van Gelder emphasizes.
