HIP Green®

the specialist in sustainable bank protection

HIP Groen (Hogendoorn Innovative Products) is enthusiastically committed to making banks more sustainable. Our unique shoring system, a clever combination of recycled HDPE plastic and pinewood with a patented design, offers an ecologically sound solution for every bank.

With more than 20 years of experience in green and hydraulic engineering projects, HIP Green was created as an innovative move from its sister company Multi-Garden and Landscape. Instead of the traditional hardwood post-shot system, we chose an environmentally friendly, circular shoring system using high-quality plastic and softwood.

In addition to sustainable shoring, HIP Groen focuses on developing more sustainable products for outdoor green space, such as fauna stairs, dam wall renovation and effective anchoring. Our goal is to meet this growing need.

Showpieces: shoring type Gouda and type Delfland
The starting point for our shoring system is the maximum use of European softwood from sustainably managed forests. Up to 90% softwood can be used, giving the shoring system not only low cost but also low environmental costs. The wood used carries the PEFC™ certificate, demonstrating its sustainable origin. Plastic (HDPE) is used only where technically necessary. Shoring type Gouda can reverse up to 20 cm of bank and shoring type Delfland has a higher plastic panel and can turn up to 40 cm of bank. All the plastic is highly recycled and thus recyclable again after end of life.

Some advantages of our shoring system at a glance

  • Technical lifetime of at least 50 years.
  • Maximum use of affordable European softwood from sustainably managed forests (PEFC).
  • Reuse of plastic waste.
  • Demonstrated sustainability through independent audit.
  • Faster processing technology than existing techniques.
  • Construction strength comparable to hardwood.
  • Placeable using a vibratory block/sorting grab.
  • Applicable in difficult soils with debris and sand layers.
  • Various finishes possible.

Simple processing technique
Our shoring is about twice as fast to install as traditional shoring. Placing piles and connecting them is faster than traditional shoring. Machines with a vibrating block make it possible to place the shoring in difficult soils with rubble and sand layers.

LCA available!
Independent assessors have scrutinized our entire business process and the life cycle of our product. We are proud of the favorable MKI score of €1.90 per square meter of shoring, officially included in the Environmental Database. This underlines our commitment to sustainability and quality.
