We (Cofra), as well as our sister company Geotechnics, are part of Boskalis Cofra Holding, which belongs to Royal Boskalis Westminster, a leading dredging and offshore contractor and maritime services provider.

• Cofra is the specialized contractor company within the holding company and mainly active in the field of soil improvement. Besides soil improvement, Cofra also focuses in specific markets on the installation of barriers, often with (environmentally protective) foil constructions.
• Geotechnics is the trading and manufacturing company that produces, among other things, the prefabricated vertical drain brand MebraDrain.

We are the European market leader when it comes to the installation of consolidation techniques such as vertical drains and vacuum consolidation. Our experienced staff works continuously to develop new soil improvement techniques and innovative solutions to improve our (installation) methods of our current techniques. This enables us to offer solutions to make your initially unsuitable subsoil material suitable for the desired construction activities. With this we want to contribute to economic development and a safe living environment worldwide.

Daily management is in the hands of Mr. Paul van den Horn (managing director), Mr. Axel Hilligehekken (operations director) and Mr. Ton van Veen (finance director). In addition to its headquarters in Amsterdam, Cofra has offices in London, Stockholm, Singapore and Bratislava.

We are a PVD manufacturer and soil improvement company with a long track record and an in-house geotechnical design department. Our first projects in prefabricated vertical drains date back to the late 1970s. Before prefabricated vertical drains were developed, Cofra installed sand piles to speed up the consolidation process. Cofra began with the installation of vertical drains, but gradually expanded its portfolio to include additional techniques. dThis allows us today to be able to offer you a complete portfolio of soil improvement techniques to unlock the potential of all soil types.

The products and equipment developed by Cofra and Geotechnics over the years are protected by international patents. The companies have quality control systems that meet ISO 9001 standards and are applied to all manufacturing, development and implementation processes. In addition, Cofra has process certificates for the use of geo-plastics.
