Thanks to the unique "stacking system," the packs, you can easily expand capacity. 'The packs can also be changed while in use, so you can just keep working. The Wattsun is silent and does not emit CO2, nitrogen and particulate matter. This makes it the perfect replacement for the polluting generator and therefore interesting for work in inner-city environmental zones and nature reserves.'

Van Gelder chooses Wattsun

Van Gelder was one of the first companies to start working with self-sustaining utility vehicles. Thanks to the Wattsun Solarkit, it is possible to generate power on location with solar panels on the roof. This power is stored in Wattsun's batteries. At the same time, the power can be used in the utility vehicle. Head of Materiel Services Evert Mekking explains why he opted for Wattsun a few years ago: 'The concept really appealed to me, I immediately ordered a few sets, also because we were working on an emission-free project in Ermelo where we could use them immediately.' That went so well, Van Gelder ran a pilot with the Wattsun Solarkit when it came on the market last year. In phases, all utility vehicles are now equipped with a Wattsun Solarkit. Self-sufficient boarding chains are even being considered. Financially, the switch to Wattsun batteries was also attractive to Van Gelder. Evert: 'We no longer need petrol and gas. Moreover, this power source is maintenance-free and the lifespan of the set, including the solar panels, is a lot longer. Now that it is also becoming more economically attractive, we are all really on the right track.' Bart adds, "It is a smart and interesting investment, because within 3 years you will have earned back the Wattsun. What's more, when you buy our sustainable batteries you are eligible for the Environmental Investment Allowance (MIA). So why wait until 2030 when you can do it now?
