With the ambition to have a completely emission-free vehicle range in the near future, Renault Trucks is adding a new light commercial vehicle to its range: the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic, which will be launched in the medium commercial vehicle segment before the end of this year. The manufacturer now offers a full range of 100% electric vehicles; from 650 kg to 50 tons.
The move to emission-free transport is a priority for Renault Trucks. This is why we recently completed the electrification of all vehicle models for use in urban areas. Whether it is home delivery, distribution, waste collection or work on construction sites, there is a solution for all applications with the Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C, the Renault Trucks E-Tech D, the D Wide and the D Wide LEC (16, 19 and 26 tons), the Renault Trucks E-Tech Master (3.1 and 3.5 tons), cargo bikes (650 kg) and, from the end of the year, the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic (3 tons).
The rise of e-commerce and the use of contractors for new construction and renovation are causing a continued increase in commercial vehicles in our cities.
Designed specifically for use in urban environments, the new Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic ensures that residents' air and quality of life are maintained. This gives businesses and professionals the guarantee that they can continue their activities in and around urban centers, regardless of local regulations.
The size of the new Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic is also ideal for driving and working in the city. The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic maneuvers easily and can be used in covered parking lots and standard parking spaces.
To meet the varying needs of professionals and contractors, the E-Tech Trafic is available in different configurations. There are three van versions (L1H1, L2H1, L2H2), two double cab van versions (L1H1 and L2H1) and a platform cab version for flatbed trailers. In the van version, the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic offers a load volume of 5.8 to 8.9 m3 and a load length of up to 4.15 m. The comfortable interior height of 1,898 mm of the H2 version is sufficient to stand upright in the cargo area.
The E-Tech Trafic is powered by a 90 kW (120 hp) electric motor and has a braked towing weight of 920 kg. It has a 52 kWh battery pack and a range of 297 km (WLTP City Cycle). These figures are among the best in the market for electric power consumption, with 18.7 kWh per 100 km, which helps reduce the vehicle's running costs. It can be recharged in 60 minutes from 15% to 80% with a fast charge function (50 kW DC).
Customers can switch to electric transport with peace of mind thanks to the personal support offered by the manufacturer. Prior to any advice, the specific needs and usage are always researched, as well as which charging solutions fit best. Renault Trucks also offers tailored financing solutions and support in applying for government subsidies.
To ensure that the customer maintains complete control over costs, Renault Trucks offers an Excellence contract that covers all the costs of the vehicle, the Start & Drive maintenance contract, insurance and financing.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic comes with an eight-year warranty on the traction battery and a two-year warranty on the rest of the vehicle, including 24/7 European breakdown service.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic comes with a diverse range of services based on Renault Trucks' long-standing expertise. For example, customers have access to the Fast & Pro Commercial Vehicle Service at Renault Trucks dealers; a unique service specially developed for professionals in the light commercial vehicle market.
Advantages of the Fast & Pro service include the fact that customers can always visit (including
evenings and Saturdays!) at one of the Renault Trucks dealerships, that maintenance is flexibly scheduled and that servicing is done faster thanks to expertise and a large stock of spare parts.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic will be available for order from mid-October 2023 and available from early 2024.
