Underground Infra Square at Infra Relation Days 2024

Initiator Grond'g Foundation and partners pack big time

Stichting Grond'g, in cooperation with its partners, network operators and contractors, is introducing an Underground Infra Square at the Infra Relatiedagen trade fair in Evenementenhal Hardenberg. This square of no less than 600 square meters will offer demonstrations, speed dates, job opportunities and networking opportunities. With this square, Stichting Grond'g and its partners want to put the industry in the spotlight and encourage new entrants to the underground infrastructure profession to find a job in this industry after completing their education.

With the Underground Infra Square, the initiators want to promote the entire industry. They also show schoolchildren/students from courses in civil engineering and civil engineering that they are indispensable as employees of the future to realize the energy and water transition. At the Underground Infra Square, visitors are playfully enthused about the profession through numerous demonstrations, speed dates, etcetera. Here they meet potential employers and in practical sessions they discover what groundwork/underground infra is all about.

René Douma, Business Manager at BAM Energy & Water North-East is proud of how the contractors and grid operators in the Northeast Netherlands are working together. "We have joined forces and we want to show how wonderful our industry is to work in. We will show that on February 6, 7, and 8, 2024 in Evenementenhal Hardenberg. Because of the energy transition we have a great challenge and lots of jobs ahead of us. What is more fun to enthuse the new generation about our industry and to be able to work with these contractors and grid operators in one team."

Irma de Hoon, Business Unit Director at Easyfairs and organizer of Infra Relatiedagen is also very excited about the new initiative in cooperation with Stichting Grond'g. "Employment is becoming an increasingly important theme in many of the industries we organize our events in, but with the set-up of the Underground Infra Square we have a first. Never before has such a large-scale initiative been set up to enthuse schoolchildren about a future in this sector. What makes it extra special is that principals and contractors in particular are joining forces to promote the industry."
