'Meet ournew GIANT models'

This year, visitors can once again try TOBROCO-GIANT's powerful machines for themselves during the Technische Kontakt Dagen. Stand 157 is in fact located near a demonstration area, where visitors can experience the versatility of some familiar but also brand new wheel loaders, skidsteers and compaction machines. "Recently, we have invested heavily in electrification, so that in the future an emission-free variant of each model will be available," says Luuk van Kessel, account manager for the Netherlands and Belgium.

During the TKD, which takes place from June 8 to 10 in Almere, the Dutch manufacturer aims to introduce visitors to various electric wheel loaders and compaction machines, among other things.

Electric machines take flight

"We see that customers are switching to electric machines at lightning speed," Van Kessel explains. "There are already more than 900 electric GIANT wheel loaders running in the Netherlands even though they will only be in production from October 2019. The advantages are also great, of course. Compared to diesel engines, they require significantly less maintenance. In addition, they are environmentally friendly and low-noise, making them suitable for working at night or next to schools and hospitals. Equally important is efficiency. In fact, we have incorporated two electric motors, one driving the wheels and one driving the hydraulic section. As a result, there is more lifting power and work can be done faster than with a diesel engine."

Thoughtful design

"Wheel loaders from TOBROCO-GIANT are known, among other things, for their extremely high lifting capacity relative to their own weight. We pay attention to every detail, creating well-thought-out machines. For example, we have placed the heavy battery of our electric machine in the back so that it simultaneously serves as a counterweight. We are also the only manufacturer to make compaction machines with a split steering boom. This significantly dampens vibrations, making the work a lot less stressful for the operator. Then we deliberately placed the battery on the cushioned area, because vibrations shorten the life of the battery. Also nice are the three different speeds one can set."

Wheel Loaders

Van Kessel emphasizes that the new G2700E HD X-TRA will be on display during TKD. "An electrically driven wheel loader that the market was asking for. In fact, thanks to its weight of 2,400 kilograms, it can be transported by trailer but has the power to lift a pack of concrete clinkers. Also on display at our booth are the G2300 HD and G2300 HD X-TRA. These also have a very large lifting capacity relative to their own weight. The powerful, 100% electric machines are very versatile, as we offer more than 500 attachments."

New skid on tracks

"Also at our demo site is the brand new skidsteer on tracks. In recent years, appreciation for our ultra-compact loaders grew. By now also equipping these machines with rubber tracks, they offer more stability and twice the lifting power. Like our skidsteer models on tires, the skidsteer on tracks is also extremely maneuverable."

Compactors

"The GIANT program has a complete line of 24 compaction machines, some of which we will of course bring to the show. Thanks to our cooperation with Honda, we were the first manufacturer to receive approval to put the electric vibratory plate into production. The (E)-vibrating rammers, (E)-vibrating plates, switch plates, roller vibrator and vacuum unit, complete our range of compaction machines."

Largest playground

Van Kessel continues: "We have already participated in the TKD several times because we have the opportunity to rent a demonstration site here. In fact, we see time and again how surprised our visitors are when they can try out our machines for themselves. The TKD has been called the biggest playground in the Netherlands and indeed, we ourselves are also looking forward to it immensely after all these years."
