Joysticks from Rototilt awarded good design award for the third time

It has just been announced that Rototilt, the Swedish manufacturer of rotary tilters, has won a German Design Award for its recently launched joysticks, the RC Joysticks. This is not the first design award Rototilt has had the pleasure of receiving in the past year.

The German Design Awards are an international standard for innovative design and global competitiveness. Winners are selected by a top international jury that focuses on identifying design trends in multiple sectors. It is now clear that Rototilt is one of those winners. In 2022, the Vindeln, Sweden-based turntable company launched a new product concept called Rototilt Control. The new product, RC Joysticks, is part of this and the company is now receiving an award for this, for the third time. 

"It is with great pleasure that we receive this prestigious award for RC Joysticks," says Caroline Jonsson, Product Manager at Rototilt. "RC joysticks are designed to operate a rotary tilt with great precision and good ergonomics. This award is a testament to our commitment to innovative design and improving the daily lives of our end users. Once again we have proven that we design with users in mind, this encourages us to continue to do so." 

Today, good design is about more than appearance and function. It is about providing answers to the demands and needs of the market and taking into account the influence of the product or service on society. This si the way the German Design Awards describe how they see and judge design. A view that Rototilt seems to share, according to Jonsson.

“We willen problemen in het dagelijkse leven van de gebruiker op onverwachte en innovatieve manieren oplossen. Een belangrijk onderdeel hiervan is om hen te betrekken bij het ontwerpproces en nieuwe methoden te vinden die tegemoet komen aan onze gebruikers en klanten”, zegt Jonsson. “In het geval van de RC Joysticks hebben we op verschillende fronten gewerkt, maar bij de belangrijkste horen de praktijktests met echte machinisten. Met hun hulp hebben we een product kunnen ontwikkelen dat veel mensen lijken te waarderen.”

Rototilt wins with RC Joysticks in the Excellent Product Design - Automotive parts and accessories category. 

Previous design awards for RC Joysticks include an IF Design Awards 2023 and the Red Dot Award 2023.
