Booster of sustainable innovation in the lifting industry
Gebr. van 't Hek is a loyal user of Sany cranes and now often switches to emission-free foundations, as here with the SCE1000A-EV.

Driver of sustainable innovation in the lifting industry

With an impressive portfolio of six electric crawler crane models and a focus on sustainability, Sany Cranes.Services from Sassenheim is closing a particularly successful year. Thanks to innovation, reliability and a keen eye for customer needs, the company is not only an important player in the Benelux, but a global forerunner in emission-free construction.

After a period of relative silence, Sany Cranes.Services, the official distributor of Sany cranes in the Benelux, has managed to turn the spotlight back on this Chinese brand. The past year has been marked by a full schedule, with the sale of a large number of electric crawler cranes and the introduction of several new models. The renewed popularity matches the increasing demand for emission-free solutions, especially in the Netherlands, where sustainability has become a priority in the construction industry.

Sany Herpertz
More and more crane rental companies have also discovered the electric Sany models. Herpertz, for example, already invested in two 80-tonners and two 135-tonners.

World stage

Jack Donker of Sany Cranes.Services says, "The Netherlands is a pioneering country. It is no surprise that battery-electric cranes are booming here in particular. Sany's commitment to innovation is driving this growth." The bauma in Munich, the world's largest construction equipment trade fair, is the time to showcase the strength of the range. On its own stand of some 350 m², the Dutch company will present three zero-emission telescopic cranes, SCE500TB-EV, SCE1000TB-EV and SCE1500TB-EV, from April 7 to 13.

"This is our chance to show the world how wide our electric range now is," Jack enthuses. "We not only introduce visitors to the power and reliability of our machines, but also to the possibilities of emission-free construction. The momentum for electric is there, and bauma is the main international platform to spread that story. It will be a special experience to present ourselves as Sany Cranes.Services, separate from the manufacturer, on such a big stage."

Sany SCE800TB EV Bauma
The 80-ton SCE800TB-EV sold by Sany Cranes.Services to VolkerWessels was an eye-catcher at bauma 2022. In April, the company will have its own stand at the world's largest equipment trade fair.

From the drawing board

A key success factor for Sany is that the electric cranes are completely newly designed instead of converted diesel versions. This makes them more reliable, more efficient and more price attractive. Jack explains: "We work closely with our engineers in China. The result is a machine that from initial sketch to production is focused on emission-free operation, with optimal component tuning and minimal maintenance costs." Battery technology plays a key role here. The capacity of the lithium-ion battery is aimed at running a full working day of 8 to 10 hours. For intensive days, there is the option of recharging during use.

Many Sany cranes find their way into the foundation and infrastructure sector, where emission-free work is increasingly becoming the norm. Companies such as Ballast Nedam, De Vries Werkendam, Gebr. De Koning, Gebr. van 't Hek and VolkerWessels rely on Sany's electric models. Interest is also growing among crane rental companies. Herpertz Crane Rental, for example, has two 80-ton telescopic cranes and two 135-ton lattice jib cranes in operation, while Van Santen Transport and Gebri have invested in a 100-ton telescopic crane.

Service as key

With six models in the range, with telescopic cranes ranging from 50 to 150 tons and lattice boom cranes of 100 and 135 tons, Sany offers solutions for virtually any application. Another 200-ton SCE2000A-EV with lattice boom will follow in 2025. A machine to look forward to eagerly! The team from Sassenheim is making a substantial contribution to Sany's international high profile and global leadership in crawler cranes. More than four out of every ten cranes sold outside China are of this brand.

Service is a core value at Sany Cranes.Services and this is underscored by the expansion of its facilities in Sassenheim. With a new service complex under construction, the company is doubling its capacity to serve customers even better. "Our customers cannot afford to stand still," Jack knows. "That's why we make sure parts are readily available and our service team can be on site quickly. Service is really the key to success for us."

Mobile battery pack

In addition to expert advice, rapid response and a spacious spare parts warehouse, the company recently began offering a mobile solution for recharging electrical equipment between jobs. The Sany Power Linx 210 - SPL210 for short - features 210 kWh of energy storage and CATL's LiFePO4 battery can be recharged in both AC and DC. The power pack weighs about 2.7 tons and can be easily moved with a crane, forklift, telehandler, wheel loader or excavator. ideal for handling peak loads on the construction site. The first two SPL210s have been sold to Gebr. van 't Hek.

This innovation reinforces Sany's mission not only to provide emission-free machines, but also to support the infrastructure to do so. "Standing still is not an option," concludes Jack. "We continue to innovate, not only to meet market demand, but also to show what is possible in a sustainable future."
