Austrian solid comes from IJsselmuiden

Since the end of 2022, Stoter Truck and Trailer from IJsselmuiden has been the importer of Schwarzmüller. The trailers of the Austrian brand stand out because of customer-specific wishes, which are custom-made. Not for nothing does Schwarzmüller claim to be the largest niche manufacturer of trailers. With around 10,000 trailers delivered each year, they more than live up to that name.

IJsselmuiden-based Stoter Truck and Trailer has also been using Schwarzmüller tipper trailers itself for the company's own transport department for several years. "Because of their low dead weight, low center of gravity and the speed with which they are at driving level under a hopper. But mainly also because these tipper combinations can be loaded up to 50 tons," explains Gerard Vlastuin of Stoter Truck and Trailer.

With about 10,000 trailers delivered each year, the Austrians are among the top European trailer builders.

Vlastuin is also enthusiastic about the Austrians' wide range of products. "That covers no less than eight different product groups. They not only make standard trailers for construction and infra, such as tipper trailers, but are also very good at flatbed trailers, bomb trailers, tank trailers, container chassis' and walkingfloor trailers. They have been around for 150 years and therefore have a wealth of experience. Finally, they offer Austrian thoroughness."

Ex-factory customization

With around 10,000 trailers delivered each year, Schwarzmüller is among the top European trailer builders. Yet they also supply customized trailers outside the standard model. But ex-factory. "Despite the high production, they do not turn their hand to very customer-specific wishes, especially in the field of low loaders. Do you want a hardwood floor 40 or 50 mm thick? That is possible! An intermediate bed with specific dimensions on a semi-low loader for transporting heavy construction equipment? No problem either!"

Vlastuin continues: "In IJsselmuiden we have our own configuration program, so we can switch quickly with the factory. They don't have huge delivery times. And because they are so good at customizing as completely as possible ex-factory, it makes a big difference in costs." Consider, for example, the steering of the axles; from trailing steered to even forced steering, where the wheels of the trailer steer both forwards and backwards. And that can even be radio-controlled.

Optimally provided

In the coming period, several customer-specific low loaders will be delivered, thus optimally meeting the wishes of the customer. There are also various options regarding the preservation of the trailers. "From standard paintwork to completely scooped," Vlastuin explains. 

Stoter Truck and Trailer employs ten experienced mechanics and has sufficient in-house capacity to install any accessories or repair defects. The warehouse holds a wide range of parts. These include both original components and after-market truck and trailer parts.
